Glide RGBW
Sunderland Royal Hospital
The aim was to improve the look of the building while also allowing the hospital to support national awareness campaigns and local initiatives. The intention was always to use the lighting system to promote awareness of key events such as #Red4Research Day and other health awareness campaigns. A range of pre-set colour scenes were programmed for key dates, including red for World Sepsis Day, orange for World Patient Safety Day and purple for World Prematurity Day, giving the team flexibility to highlight different causes throughout the year.
LEDextra provided 3D visuals using Lumion software to show how the lighting would look before installation, along with full drawings and wiring schematics. A DMX control system with 4G connectivity was installed, allowing both remote and on-site control. Additional light fittings, Chromix Flood and Glide RGBW, were used throughout various areas of the site, including the car park, Chester Wing and substation.
