Majestic Wine is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer. Founded in 1980, it operates more than 200 stores nationwide, with a strong emphasis on expert, WSET-trained staff and its popular “mix any six” buying model. Owned by Fortress Investment Group, the business serves both consumers and trade customers through retail stores, online delivery, and a dedicated on-trade supply division. Renowned for its in-store tasting counters, knowledgeable teams, and “no-quibble” guarantee, Majestic offers an extensive range of wines, beers, and spirits, including many exclusive bottles sourced from producers around the world.
With extensive experience in the retail lighting sector, Dextra was introduced to Majestic Wine to help transform its new store lighting concept while also reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs across the existing estate. Working closely with the property team and appointed consultants, we developed a fully flexible, contemporary solution designed to be future-proof. Our primary objective was to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere while highlighting key areas such as the tasting counter and fine wine displays, enhancing the overall customer journey.
Majestic Wine’s mission is to help customers discover wines, beers, and spirits they will love. The new lighting concept has been well received by both the client and customers, reflecting the strength of the design and development work undertaken in recent years. During a period of record expansion and the rollout of modernised store formats, Dextra will continue to support Majestic Wine in partnership with its appointed electrical contractors and consultants.
