Callerton Academy
Callerton Academy in Newcastle, an established member of Gosforth Group, opened its doors to their first Year 7 cohort in September 2021 and continue to grow to this day. As part of this new build expansion they approached Dextra Group for a full LED lighting specification. Having worked with Dextra previously, they chose to continue that relationship for this project, looking for a straightforward solution that would meet current energy regulations.
Dextra worked alongside McVickers Electrical Contractors and TGA Consulting Engineers to deliver a scheme suited to a modern school setting. It was imperative that Dextra delivered effective, reliable lighting throughout the school, including classrooms, corridors and shared spaces.
The final installation uses LED lighting throughout and proved a great success helping the school meet current energy standards and keep running costs down. The lighting provides consistent levels across the building with bright and comfortable spaces for day-to-day use. Overall, it’s a simple, effective solution that does exactly what was needed for a new school building.
