Supporting our local Community
Dextra Group actively works with and supports local businesses, organisations and the communities in which we operate.
Six defibrillators have been installed across the Dextra Group site. For every minute that someone is in cardiac arrest without receiving CPR and having adefibrillator used on them, their chances of survival decreases by 10%. It is therefore imperative for our defibrillators to be easily accessible. We have registered one unit, located in our main reception in Unit 17, on the National Defibrillator Network which allows the general public to access and use during our office working hours (8am to 5.30pm). Over the years, our employees have been involved in fundraising events for Children in Need, Comic Relief, Macmillan to name but a few.
As a company we have focused on the following local organisations:
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
The company’s charity of choice, with annual donations of £25,000.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provide lifesaving, pre-hospital critical care to patients in urgent need. Since 2011 Dextra Group has donated £230,724 to this service, the equivalent of 66 missions and potentially, as many lives saved.
During our longstanding partnership, we have supported Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance to grow from a crew of 6 to a full critical care team of 52 doctors, nurses, paramedics and pilots. The crew brings the hospital to the patient 19 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are now tasked to nearly 3,000 emergency incidents each year, flying more missions than any other air ambulance in the Southwest.
This year we celebrate the launch of their second helicopter, which will enable the team to reach 150 more patients each year, and the possibility of a 24-hour service. We will continue to support this amazing charity as it realises its ambitions to reach more patients and continually improve patient outcomes.

“Over the past 15 years, Dextra Group’s generosity has played a direct role in saving countless lives. Like DSAA, they value innovation, efficiency and the delivery of excellence. Their support has helped us transform our service, enhancing our skills, reducing response times, purchasing specialist equipment and life-saving drugs. It has also supported key developments across our field, such as the introduction of pre-hospital blood transfusions, advanced at-scene procedures and emergency anesthesia – with Dextra’s help we have become a mobile intensive care unit.
Our service does not receive direct government funding – we rely entirely on the public for support. Because of Dextra and our wider community, our service gives Dorset’s most ill and injured patients the best possible chance of survival – a level of care that cannot currently be provided by our NHS partners and is otherwise only possible in a hospital trauma setting. We are proud of our partnership and look forward to evolving together for years to come.”

Gillingham Foodbank
Dextra Group have been a regular supporter of Gillingham Foodbank for the last 4 years, with both financial donations, company and employee food collections. Gillingham Foodbank believe that nobody in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why they provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Dextra Group are now reaching out to support more food banks in key areas with the highest poverty in the UK with a £1000 donation to these in 2026:
